End-of-year get-together with the Choices to Age Home team (l to r) Julia McCarthy, Antony Shields and Marion Fuller.

As we approach Christmas and the final days of 2023, I’ve been reflecting on the first year of Choices to Age at Home.

Above all else, I’m grateful for the support and encouragement provided to me and the team from across the aged care sector. We have commenced an incredible journey, creating an entirely new independent service to support and advise older Australians and their families. We have made amazing connections along the way and have commenced working with our first clients.

We will be offering services throughout the holiday period, a time when many families get together and realise things have changed and, as a result, they need advice on what to do next. For instance, we often find that when a loved one is taken to hospital, the conversation turns to what happens once they are discharged. At what should be a joyous time of the year, the last thing you need is additional stress caused by uncertainty and a lack of information.

Rest assured, we’re here to help.

You’ll find our calendar availability when making a booking through our website. From self-service to intensive support, there are a range of ways we can help; best of all, you can book and pay 24/7.

There is no doubt a tremendous need for what Choices to Age at Home has to offer, and I look forward to helping more older Australians to successfully age at home in 2024.
