Julia McCarthy, Founder, Choices to Age at Home

The Choices to Age at Home team held its inaugural training day earlier this year. The day marked the first time the team had come together in person, a chance to get to know each other and share their expertise and knowledge.

Understanding that this was an important milestone in the development of the business, Choices to Age at Home founder Julia McCarthy added a special touch to the occasion.

“I’d started the business in May, the same month my mother passed away a few years prior. Her much-loved special English China had been safely stored in my cupboard for 21 years, and I thought, what better time to take it out and celebrate.

“With French Pastries and Coffee at hand, Marion, Tony and I began discussing what is at the heart of the Choices to Age at Home business.”

“As professionals who’ve worked in the industry for decades, this was an opportunity to focus on our knowledge of the sector and how we could leverage that to help older Australians and their families.

“The three of us have lived experience, a collective passion, and a clear vision for how we want to help older Australians to remain living at home as long as possible. We all believe in the importance of offering people a superior quality ageing at home experience through practical and hands-on advice which is tailored to people’s individual needs.”

“Age is just a number, and our clients are people just like us, maybe a little older, maybe not,” she said.

Choices to Age at Home is a national service with appointments available seven days a week and extended times during the week to be there for people at the time they need.

We offer tiered support levels so you can choose the most appropriate service to suit your needs. Importantly, we have no affiliations with Government departments or service providers. That means you can trust us because we are 100% independent, as is our advice.
